Are there any plans for a Posit-developed package for plotting with Observable JS?

There are some cool examples online for making interactive plots in quarto with Observable JS chunks. The downside is having to write Observable code.

Are there any plans for a package that translates R code or R figure objects into Observable JS? Kind of like how ggplotly works?
