Can I tell Rstudio to poll continuously for changes of opened files

Hello, I use Rstudio to preview R notebooks. My workflow is usually to

  • edit R Notebooks in vim
  • when I want them to be previewed to click on the Editor pane in Rstudio that will then reload the file automatically (and save it too given I activated this option in Tools > Global Options > Code > Saving)
    This is causing the preview to be automatically updated which is fairly awesome.

Now what I find would be really amazing is if I could tell Rstudio to reload files automatically if they've changed outside Rstudio so they would be loaded and saved, hence the preview would be updated.

Is it something that can be done ?
