Can you display character count in git commit in R studio via Review Changes window?

Hello,

I often use the git pane and git pane "review changes" window to stage code, type a commit message, and commit. I try to keep my commit message title to under 80 characters so it is easy to view, therefore, I would like to see some indication of character count while typing (perhaps like the one in the bottom left hand corner of an open script in Rstudio). Is this already an option in Rstudio? If not, I think it would be a helpful improvement.

This seems like a feature request, so it would be better to file an issue on the github page
