Can't open RStudio after install, 'quit unexpectedly' error

Hi,

I have a student trying to open R Studio, but it errors out w. a 'quit unexpectedly' msg while opening (screenshot attached).
She has Mac OS Catalina installed, the processor is 64 bit.
I installed R 4.1.3, then removed and reinstalled the free version of R Studio Desktop.
Haven't found much on the error msg provided and wanted to reach out to the R community, see if y'all have seen this before?
