Our research group in aquatic ecosystem ecology is looking for an entry-level data scientist. This person will work with our team to maintain and improve the relational database that holds our data on carbon biogeochemistry, food web ecology, fish and fisheries ecology, and social-ecological dynamics in lake ecosystems. Tasks will include updating and editing data, data structures, and metadata, and may also include work to refine data pipelines and improve data visualization and processing tools. Key qualifications include proficiency in the R computing language, including working with and manipulating large data sets; strong project management and collaboration skills; the ability to work independently and meticulously; and some familiarity with the principles of relational databases. This is a paid, temporary position. Work hours and location are flexible.

This is an hourly, temporary, un-benefited position. All candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required for employment.

One onsite visit to Millbrook, NY on hire date may be required for paperwork processing.
