Compiling of R and/or RStudio on a CentOS 6.9 HPC cluster.

Hello, we are having challenges in installing R and RStudio

Already installed gcc-8.2.0 and openmpi-3.1.5 so R would have to be compiled on top of the two. R and its dependencies would have to be compiled as using yum breaks the system.
The cluster has no support for a graphical user interface (GUI).

Need help and details on how to compile the R and RStudio dependences. The complete installation guide will be appreciated.
