CTRL + C/V doesn't work in the Terminal

I am on Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS, but shortcuts for copy and paste CTLR + C/V don't work in the Rstudio's Terminal (they do work in other parts of IDE). How can I fix this?

Those shortcuts don’t work in the system terminal either. You need to add SHIFT.

What do you refer to as "system terminal"? I can set whatever shortcuts in my terminal application (which is MATE Terminal), so I am using CTRL +C/V.
