Does the most recent version of RStudio work with versions of macOS earlier than 11?

Dear Posit Community,

Every time I start up RStudio or change projects, I get an alert that there is a new RStudio version available. I am running macOS version 10.15.7, Catalina. The download site seems to indicate that the installer is for macOS 11+. Would it still work with my version? If not, it may be helpful for RStudio to check the host OS version to guide its alerts.
