Error in knit2wp() when posting R Markdown file to Wordpress blog

Hi,

I successfully followed instructions here for uploading an R Markdown file to a Wordpress blog till the step where I had to run the function knit2wp(). I get the following error:

Error in function (type, msg, asError = TRUE) :
error:1407742E:SSL routines:SSL23_GET_SERVER_HELLO:tlsv1 alert protocol version

Any pointers would be appreciated.
