error loop when downloading dplyr package

Hi! So I'm trying to install the package dplyr and I keep getting stuck in an error loop. A pop-up window stating "one or more of the packages that will be updated by this installation is currently loaded. Restarting R prior to updating these packages is strongly recommended" comes up. When I press yes to restart, it restarts and goes to download the package, but then that pop-up reappears again. The same thing happens when I select no, don't restart.

I'm new to R so would really appreciate any and all advice

Can you copy the complete set of error/warning messages and post them here please?

Make sure packages are not being loaded through a startup file (i.e. Rprofile.site or .Rprofile), then restart RStudio itself and try to install dplyr again before doing anything else.
