Error When Installing the Command Line Developer Tools on Mac

I am trying to download RStudio on my Mac for my developer class. When I open RStudio, I get the pop-up "The git command requires the command line developer tools. Would you like to install the tools now?" When I select install, I keep getting the error "Can't install the software because it is not currently available from the software update server." Has anyone else had this error? All the solutions I have found online so far have not worked...I keep getting the same error.

This is a macOS specific issue (not directly related to R), you could try the solution on this related thread.
