Help needed with Levene Test

Hi,

I am trying to do a levene test

bengueladf<-data.frame(benguela$year,periodbenguela,rowMeans(benguela[,1:22]))
names(bengueladf)[1]<-paste("Year")
names(bengueladf)[2]<-paste("Period")
names(bengueladf)[3]<-paste("Multimodel Mean")

leveneTest(Multimodel Mean~Period, data = bengueladf)

Keep getting error
Error: unexpected symbol in "leveneTest(Multimodel Mean"
What am I doing wrong?

Fortunately, it's easy to spot the issue, which is a blank space. (The one in Multimodel Mean)
