Help with ANCOVA

Hello,
I am a beginner at rstudio.
I want to compare means of an outcome variable between two or more groups taking into account variability of other variable.
I cant do ANCOVA, because there is not linearity between the covariate and the outcome variable.
Which would be the best option? do a t test between the variable and each group besides the anova?
