How do you knit your RMarkdown files?

I was just curious what types of documents everyone used for their RMarkdown needs.

  • HTML
  • PDF
  • Word

I answered .pdf, but it really depends on my needs. If I'm performing an internal analysis and the output is just for records, I knit to .pdf, but if I need the output for publication purposes, I knit to Word.

I have

output:
  html_document:
    keep_md: TRUE

a lot of the time…so no answer on the poll!

@mara What does the keep_md: TRUE do?

In a shocking turn of events, it keeps the .md (aka markdown) file! (@kmprioli's link :+1:)!

HTML is my default (it's also RStudio's), but I very often output to Word. Clients expect it.

I'm writing my thesis, so I use PDF for the most part
