Hi Rstudio Community.

(How to use Zlib in R)

I am currently working on a Rshiny project, there is going to be used for plotting time series data. These time series is compressed by the Zlib algorithm. Which means I got a blob containing a series of numbers, this series is compressed by using the Zlib algorithm.

Below you will find an example these blobs/compressed timeseries:

Can anyone please help me, figure out how to implement Zlib in R?

I was trying to install the package 'Rcompression' using the following command.
install.packages("Rcompression", repos = "http://www.omegahat.net/R")

But it returns the following error:

  • installing source package 'Rcompression' ...
    ** using staged installation
    Please define LIB_ZLIB
    ERROR: configuration failed for package 'Rcompression'

Do you have any ideas how to solve this error?

the zlib link seems broken, but im guessing this is as good as https://zlib.net/
