Is it posible to get an rstudio-server version from a compiled installation?

I have tried cloning a specific release tag (i.e. v1.3.1093) and compiling with -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Release but I still get 99.9.9 (Apricot Nasturtium) for Unknown OS if I run rstudio-server version.

How can I get an actual version for a compiled installation? and on a related matter, Is it possible to compile a specific preview version release?
