Keep files with plots being generated by bookdown run

Hello everybody out there using bookdown,

bookdown generates the plots included in my file, but deletes them after each run.
This can even be seen inside a file browser. I know of the keep_tex option, which I set in the yaml header, but this does not affect image files.
Is there a way to keep them after the run is finished?
This would for example be helpful for including the images in presentations.

They are not deleted, but moved to the _bookdown_files/ directory instead.

Thanks a lot for your answer. This would be great, but I'm afraid this folder is empty in my case.
I ran find . -name "_bookdown_files" on my directory to ensure there is no other one or I am missing other files. There are some image files in my docs/ folder, which I use for output.
