Learn from completed projects

One way to improve programming skills is to study how other engineers write their code. How does this apply to data science? Is there any repository of good data science analysis projects that one can learn from?

I've never used it, but could Kaggle give you that kind of thing?

It does seem hard for data analysis though, as an important part of the process is trying things that don't really work and are not really recorded. Some examples can be found on the blog of David Robinson who made some video comments on analyses.You can probably find more examples, but I don't know of any centralized repository.
