leftrightarrow ligature does not work

The leftrightarrow ligature does not display correctly.

The picture on the left (below) shows that <-> should translate to this ligature: ↔️.
The picture on the right (below) shows that Rstudio does not render this correctly:

Notice that -> indeed renders correctly as rightarrow.

I am using the newest version of Rstudio (version 1.3.1056), on Windows 10.
