Linking to examples on RStudio Cloud

In the plotly for R book, I'm thinking of providing links to runnable versions of the examples on RStudio Cloud.

It seems like a decent way to do that would be to provide a link that opens a project and automatically opens a source file on the cloud instance. Is something like that currently possible on RStudio Cloud?

A few points:

  • You can link to projects, but there's no way yet to link to specific files or sections of your project, or ensure specific scripts are open.
  • rstudio.cloud is still in alpha, so do be forgiving for a while. But it is our intention that these projects links will last for a long time.

I think it's a great idea! It could allow for the transition between textbook/course material and actual applications more smooth.
The idea has been added to our to-get-to list.
