I am attempting to generate multivariate generalized additive models (GAMs). I am familiar with the MGCV package, although it does not seem to be included in CRAN any longer. I am hoping to find an equivalent package supported by v4.0.0 for creating smooths based on many variables. My efforts are centered around filling in data gaps.
mgcv package is still on CRAN, what is your problem installing it?
I tried install.packages("MGCV") and I got an error message that said the package is not supported by v4.0.0. I went ahead and installed the gam package instead and am hoping it will be somewhat similar. Do you suggest one over the other?
The package name is mgcv with lower cases, R is case sensitive.
