Name of LHS object when using pipe returns NULL

Following this great SO-post (https://stackoverflow.com/questions/30057278/get-lhs-object-name-when-piping-with-dplyr) I use this code to get the name of the df on the LHS:

library(tidyverse)

get_orig_name <- function(df){
    i <- 1
    while(!("chain_parts" %in% ls(envir=parent.frame(i))) && i < sys.nframe()) {
        i <- i+1
    }
    list(name = deparse(parent.frame(i)$lhs), output = df)
}

mtcars %>% get_orig_name()

with the update to the recent tidyverse-versions instead of the name it returns NULL - I suspect it may have to do with magrittr 2.0 but I am not sure; it worked with R 4.0.3. and older package versions.

Does anyone have other ideas where this might come frome (and how to fix it)? I liked to use this when applying write_csv() on multiple objects. Thanks for the inputs
