Citations in document bibliography do not show up in Visual Editor's pop-up window

First of all, the new visual editor for R Markdown is absolutely fantastic and I am very grateful for it!

However, R Markdown does not show the citations available in my document bibliography through the citation pop-up window. It only shows citations available in Zotero.

How can I fix this?
