New Shiny Server Instance Example Apps immediately disconnect

I've Just installed a new instance of shiny server on an ubuntu 18.04 server and the example apps are loading but immediately disconnecting and keep disconnecting when reloaded.

This is not generating any new log entries in /var/log/shiny-server/

I checked the browser console and i'm getting the error: Connection closed. Info: {"type":"close","code":4503,"reason":"The application unexpectedly exited","wasClean":true}

Any Ideas as to what might be causing this behaviour?
