Only toolbar displaying when opening RStudio for first time

After installing RStudio, when I open the program, there are no panes, It is essentially a blank screen and the only thing that is present is the top tool bar with "File"...."View"..."Help", etc. While this toolbar appears to work, when you select any options in the toolbar nothing happens.
Any help would be appreciated.

The issue was resolved. This link helped a lot: https://support.rstudio.com/hc/en-us/articles/360017886674-Troubleshooting-RStudio-Rendering-Errors. Choosing "software" as the rending engine, seems to have corrected the problem.
