For repeated creation of files, is there any existing code that will generate the markdown code (say, from a template)?

I'm not sure if this would be exactly related to what you're trying to accomplish, but I've been experimenting with solutions to interactively build up new R Markdown files out of other R Markdown file (pieces). This post about the use of child documents from @yihui was a helpful find.

I am a snippet fan, so my approach would be to create one big template snippet or several snippets for specific sections, depending on your needs.
