Pasting from LaTeX PDF into RMD

I often need to copy from compiled latex documents into an .Rmd file. Often when I need to do this there are miniature parsing errors e.g.,

e.g., "fi" sometimes collapse into a single "fi" character

Is there some kind of automated way I can check for and correct these errors?
