Plotting in RStudio makes it crash

As far as I understand RStudio stopped supporting Ubuntu 16. This is sad.
I face errors when I use ggplot2 with R 4.1.1

What version of RStudio are you using? You need the very latest release, 1.4.1717, to work with the new plotting engine in R 4.1.

Hi @jonathan . Yes I am using an older version of RStudio Version 1.4.1106 because there is no newer version for Ubuntu 16 on RStudio Download the RStudio IDE - RStudio

Yes, we can't build on (or for) operating systems that are no longer supported by their vendor. Ubuntu 16 reached EOL several months ago:

https://computing.cs.cmu.edu/news/2020/eol-ubuntu-1604

However, RStudio doesn't actually contain any code incompatible with Ubuntu 16; the only real incompatibility is with OpenSSL (Ubuntu 16 uses 1.0, Ubuntu 18 uses 1.1). You can use the latest release on Ubuntu 16 by either compiling it from source or by putting OpenSSL 1.1 on your Ubuntu 16 system.

Thanks for your time and clarification!! @jonathan
