I would like to use Posit Cloud to run a program on quite heavy csv files (between 1 and 4 GB) since my own laptop doesn't have enough RAM. However I don't manage to even upload the data: the system will each time display the message "your project went to sleep while you were away". Is it due to the fact that I am using the free Posit Cloud version ? Or is it just taking too much time due to the dataset size ? Thank you very much for your help !

No idea about the Posit Cloud question but a couple of other approaches that might work on your laptop are discussed at {disk.frame} and R for Data Science : Arrow..
Depending on what you are doing you might want to look at {data.table} which is reported to reduce demands on RAM.
