Problem using est.mle function

I am experiencing the same problem found in this topic: Problem using mle function

It appears it was never resolved which is too bad. The error is happening at the est.mle line. The exact error message is:

Error in if (!all(lower[isfixed] <= fixed[isfixed] & fixed[isfixed] <=  : 
  missing value where TRUE/FALSE needed
