Quarto crashing with GitHub

Hello, I am having a problem with using the excellent Quarto system and posting to GitHub. I have been able to create a few Quarto documents and post them successfully to GitHub Pages, e.g Demonstration of Michigan Colors for R Graphs.

However, quite frequently, when I create a document in Quarto, the GitHub pane in the RStudio IDE "freezes" and will not allow me to commit or to push my changes.

Has anyone encountered anything similar?
