R curser jumps over second curly parenthesis

When typing the curly parenthesis to start with the body of the function, R automatically adds a closing curly parenthesis. In the past, I could just put my curser in front of the second / closed parenthesis (i.e. between the two curly brackets) and click, and then the closed parenthesis would move to the next line, giving me the option to enter my function statements in between the two curly parenthesis, With the new version, however, my cursor just jumps over the second bracket, not recognizing it, so I have to manually delete it and then remember to enter it after completion of my function statements. Please could you let me know how to solve this problem.
