R filenames ... .R vs .r

The tidyverse Style Guide is pretty clear about this ... but then again I see plenty of files, often recently-added or edited in tidyverse packages that have both .R and .r, e.g. here in dplyr.

What'd y'all use?
And are these newer files in dplyr a sign of an impending change to the tidyverse Style Guide?
