I am an R user and I am currently integrated in a team that is constructing a software using C# and R for the background scripts. We use Microsoft azure to deploy the cloud-based software and I was wondering if it is possible to run R in this type of systems.

Do you want to install R on linux server from Azure ?
or use Azure service from R ?

I believe that what we want is not to have to install the R inside the azure (since it is not available like python is) and have like a standalone R or have the scripts as executable. As this is going to be a software to be installed on clients we were exploring if we can assure a cloud based software or only on-permisse.
