R-Studio installation for Mac question

Hi, I just downloaded R-studio desktop, RStudio 1.2.1093, for Mac( I'm running OS 10.15) and I received an error message when I verified the application.
The message was "Unable to locate R binary by scanning standard locations".
What does this mean and how can I fix?

Thanks,
Diane

RStudio is an interface to R and won't work without it. Download from the CRAN site

Thanks for the recommendation, however installing programs is not my strengths, so could I ask for some clarity on what I need to install?
I installed Rstudio last night and went to the Cran site to install the binaries, however I don't know which binary package to install?? Do I also need to install just "R"?

Thanks for helping me out, I really appreciate it!

Diane

These are packages, not R itself.

First, navigate to CRAN and click through to macOS

Second, click on the version highlighted below

Third, open Finder, click into Downloads, and double click the pkg file and follow the instructions.
