Rstudio crashes after editing code cell in rmarkdown

Hi,

I am using a HP spectre 360x with 64 bit Windows 10. Recently I have experienced devastating problems with rstudio. As soon as I start editing the code within a r code cell in rmarkdown rstudio freezes and I have to force quit. This happens now every time I open the same project and try to edit the code without exceptions.

I have tried:

  • updating rstudio and the r package
  • Reinstalling rstudio and the r package
  • creating a new project

I am using version control with git, maybe it could have something to to with that? But now I am lost and I have not yet found a thread describing the same problem as I have.

Could someone help?
