RStudio has become slow when creating new R script

Hi, my R Studio, running in windows 10, has suddenly become slow when creating R script files using the menu command File->New->R Script.

The R Studio halts for about 2 minutes and then it continues to execute, efter creating the new R script.

R Studio behaves the same if I create a .txt file as well.

I have reinstalled the R Studio and tried to delete the R Studio desktop folder.

Hi, I'm running Rstudio Version 1.1.419 with R-3.3.2 on Windows 10. Starting yesterday the console takes a very long to respond to to process a simple command I use to run. I tried both re-installing R studio and deleting(renaming) the Rstudio-Desktop directory, but that did not solve the problem. Any thoughts. Thanks.

Also, your RStudio and R versions will be helpful in troubleshooting.
