Rstudio IDE on Alma Linux 9.1 breaks due to missing libssl.so.1.1

I just tried to install the latest Rstudio IDE on Alma Linux 9.1. It would not start and I got the following error:

rstudio error "/usr/lib/rstudio/resources/app/bin/rsession: error while loading shared libraries: libssl.so.1.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"

Installing openssl didn't fix it. Installing an old daily build as suggested
here fixed the problem. But I was wondering is there a newer, stable version that I could install that would work?

Thanks,

John

Have you tried the RedHat 7 build of the latest release? We don't directly support Alma Linux, but your problem can probably be solved by finding a release that matches your system's libssl.
