Rstudio opening up many old dataframe views on startup

I recently had the problem that whenever I started Rstudio on my Laptop (Fedora 34, R version 4.0.5, Rstudio 1.4.1717) it would open dozens of old windows with previously viewed dataframes, which I always had to close every single time I opened Rstudio.
When searching the internet the only similar problem I found was the following Topic on this forum:

RStudio starts with many old windows

When I start RStudio, more than 10 windows open automatically, including previous R scripts and data.frames. How can I ensure that my RStudio start without opening any old windows? I prefer a clean startup of RStudio. I use RStudio Version 1.3.1093 on Fedora 33 operating system.

However for me the proposed solution did not change anything.
I experimented a bit more and tried reattaching the windows to the main Rstudio window and then closing them.
This seems to have solved the problem and I have not had any problems since then.

I am not sure wether this is the correct place to report this and if this is a bug or intended behaviour, but I wanted to put this solution out there in case someone else encounters the same problem.
