We are searching for a leader of our new business (Enterprise Advocate) sales group. In this position, you will be responsible for managing a growing team (currently 3 reps with 2 open positions) that works with new prospects to qualify their needs and position RStudio solutions. Our Marketing and Business Development Rep groups generate highly qualified leads leveraging our substantial presence in the R and Python developer communities due to the nearly ubiquitous use of our open source products. The new account team works generally with existing open-source users to position the value of our professional offerings that help enable data science in the enterprise.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive new account penetration as measured by number of new logos and value of new logo bookings
  • Define and implement new business sales strategy that embraces early and late majority customers as well as early adopters
  • Work closely with marketing on new logo recruitment programs including:
    • Conference/show selection, attendance and lead capture strategy
    • Campaign definition and execution (nurture campaigns, advertising such as LinkedIn, old lead reinvigoration, webinars, etc.)
    • Interface and opportunity handoff with Business Development Rep group
  • Define and implement (in conjunction with Marketing) best practices lead follow up across the new business group
  • Coach and mentor Enterprise Advocate team
  • Provide management level deal involvement on large opportunities:
    • Price and terms negotiation
    • Company positioning relative to open source, price structure, business model, partner engagement, etc.

About you:

  • Several (3-5) years experience in software sales management in a subscription/SaaS company in the analytics or similar space
  • Experience with R, Data Science, big data technology, Python, machine learning or similar company/technology highly desirable
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with marketing on an integrated, cohesive new business strategy
  • Balance of strategic and operational skills
  • Ability to study and learn new technologies and develop customer engagement strategy based on customer needs and product benefits
  • Understanding of lead development process and ability to map to the customer journey
  • Metrics orientation with a balance of team development and team culture focus
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit strong team members
