This Product Marketing role will be part of an experienced product marketing team, reporting to the Head of Product and Community Marketing. They will be responsible for collaboratively building the Go-To-Market strategy for RStudio’s professional products, and driving its execution via differentiated product messaging, effective product launches, and providing content for thought leadership, awareness, sales enablement and customer education.

About you

  • You can convey complex ideas in a clear, engaging and succinct way that demonstrates customer empathy
  • You have experience working in product marketing (or related functions) for a data science, analytics or other vendor of complex software, where you have planned and executed Go-to-Market strategies
  • You are humble, kind, curious and people smart
  • You are highly organized, self-motivated and able to adapt to changing priorities, with strong critical thinking and project management skills
  • You enjoy working with cross-functional teams, and understand trade-offs in goals and investments of resources
  • Willingness and desire to work in a fast-paced and high growth environment
  • Ability to speak and write effectively for a variety of audiences and channels of communication
  • Ability to travel occasionally when necessary as in-person events resume - not likely to exceed 10% to 20%
  • Familiarity with Python, R and/or RStudio products is a significant plus, as is being an active participant in the Python data science community

What you’ll own

In this role, you will be responsible for helping to craft the key product marketing strategy and messaging for a segment of our commercial products, and then to execute that strategy through a variety of channels, including:

  • Identify market problems and pain points for relevant personas, crafting messaging and GTM plans to speak to those pain points and explain how RStudio products can provide solutions
  • Providing content that reflects those market problems and messaging, for thought leadership, awareness and customer education
  • Lead efforts to generate strong momentum ahead of new product launches, including project management for the launch process
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert to support Demand Gen and Customer Outreach efforts
  • Planning and contribution to webinars, and other in person and virtual events
  • Sales training and enablement with relevant, focused material

What you’ll help with

Working with the rest of the Product and Community Marketing team:

  • Writing copy for web pages, blogs, social media
  • Implementing programs that consistently engage our target personas in relevant conversations, and that generate high quality pipeline that drives bookings
  • Contribute to the crafting and evolution of the key Go-To-Market themes (such as R & Python and Data Science & BI) which organize our overall product Go-To-Market efforts, tying product features to customer and market problems

Working with the product management team:

  • Competitive and market analysis to help guide our marketing and product investments
  • Gather customer and market feedback to help determine the best course for each existing and new product
