RStudio Server 1.1 fails to open projects and other file related errors?

Since updating RStudio server to 1.1.383, we've started intermittently having problems where trying to open a project fails. Like you click the .Rproj file in the Files window and it looks like it's switching projects, but when the screen refreshes, you're still in whatever project you were in before.

I've also started getting this error:

Anyone else have these issues?

UPDATE: Regarding the error above that references /home/ubuntu/rstudio/etc... We don't actually even run ubuntu, but Debian. It's not clear where that file path is coming from, but that's definitely not a path that exists on the server.

The error you're seeing implies that the internal document RStudio stores for your file is missing (this is the internal buffer RStudio uses for changes to a document that haven't yet been saved / committed to the original file location).

The path you're seeing is the path used on the development machine that is used to build RStudio -- you can safely ignore that. It's mostly useful for the RStudio IDE team to know exactly what code path produced the error you're seeing.

All that said, I'm not sure what could be causing this issue. Can you provide any other information about your system -- e.g. R version, whether you're working with NFS mounts, or anything else that might be unique? Are you noticing any other issues, or anything else that might be relevant in the log files? Are you working within projects managed by Dropbox, or some other cloud synchronization service?
