The Role

We are looking for a Data Scientist to work in a multi-disciplined team, working alongside Developers, Designers and Product Owners, who will own their work from the initial idea to the final implementation. The role will allow for opportunities to work in a variety of areas such as digital, logistics, predictive maintenance, and anything else that you may think of, or that will come your way.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience
  • Masters, PhD, or equivalent experience in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, etc.)
  • Proven problem solver – the ability to come up with unique solutions to unique problems
  • Professional experience in working with large data sets
  • Strong programming skills in at least one of analytical frameworks in R (tidyverse, mlr) or Python (pandas, NumPy, SciPy)
  • Strong statistics grounding
  • Broad knowledge of Machine Learning topics (clustering, forecasting, classification, anomaly detection)
  • Able to conduct statistical experiments to measure the effectiveness of our analytic products
  • Experienced in visualization techniques
  • Proven track record of being able to deliver insight with the ability to visualize and explain a model to a target audience
  • Experience implementing a real-world recommender or ranking system
  • Fluent in English

Additional Qualifications

  • Ability to translate complex problems in layman's terms
  • Comfortable in applying operational research methods
  • Familiar with NLP, Deep Learning, Bayesian Interference
  • Experience working with Shiny or Dash
  • Experience working with Hadoop (HDFS, Spark, Impala, Hive) or cloud (e.g. AWS)
