Scrolling closes documents in Posit Cloud

Hello,

I'm using a 2014 MacBook Air running MacOS Big Sur 11.6.1. I'm having the problem that when I scroll using the track pad within an R Script in Posit Cloud too far/too fast it closes the R Script I am working on. Unfortunately, scrolling with the track pad is by far the easiest way to navigate through the document, but it's hard to avoid scrolling the wrong way occasionally. If I accidentally scroll too far at once, or to the left or right, the R Script closes and takes a while to reopen/can result in lost work. Is there a way to turn this function off?
