Shapefile in R Studio

Hi,

I'm using RStudio in order to see the change of soil moisture content on Earth. My inerested area is in Nepal around the Himalayan Fault. I created the soil moisture map but now I'd like to see the "fault" on the same plot so I can interpret the change in soil moisture around the fault.

Should I use Shapefile in order to do that?
... and where can I find the map with faults to import?!
