Just curious. It seems that most people online put data in static/data, however I don't really see why Rstudio creates a data directory when using blogdown that people don't use. Does it have a different purpose?
Hi @kieran, not sure if you're referring to this same folder, but I believe that the /theme/data/ or /data folder is where the files that are recognized as .Site.data are stored: https://gohugo.io/templates/data-templates/
