Hopefully this is the correct place to ask, but would it be possible to get libeccodes-dev installed on RStudio Cloud?
This system library provides software for decoding grib files that are (unfortunately still) a sort of industry standard for meteorology. We have built an R package that harnesses this library and would like to do some teaching using RStudio Cloud.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We typically update system packages for RStudio Cloud on a quarterly basis. I have filed an internal issue tracking this request. Once we evaluate this request and make a determination if this should be included in the base image or not, we will respond to this posting.
