'tkplot' gives no response and cannot load the package 'tcltk'

I was trying the function 'tkplot' in the package 'igraph', but my Mac just got stuck when simply running

library(tcltk)

which is really wired as my supervisor said the function just works fine in his PC. Does anyone know what's wrong?

Verify that XQuartz is correctly installed and up to date in your computer.
