Unable to run Rstudio

Error Information: i installed R and Rstudio from the links given in the guide. However, when i try to open Rstudio it says 'The program can't start because api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem'.

Description of issue -

Attempted steps taken to fix - i reinstalled it four times, however it still shows the same error.

System Information:

  • RStudio Edition: (Desktop or Server)
  • RStudio Version: 1.2.1335
  • OS Version: Windows 8
  • R Version: 3.6.1
  • Output your diagnostics report (if possible):

This seems to be neither a sideeffect of your R or RStudio installation:

Due to that fact it's useless to reinstall R/RStudio.
It's more or less an unwated sideeffect of your current OS Version Windows 8.

Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 (64-bit) was missing from my system. i installed it and RStudio is working now! Thank you so much!
