University of Kansas; Accessible Teaching, Learning, and Assessment Systems - Data Analyst/R Developer

paid / Lawrence, KS, or remote / full-time

ATLAS is seeking a Data Analyst with a background in educational measurement to contribute to the delivery of operational assessments, research projects supporting the use of the assessments, and dissemination efforts.

The data analyst will manage, clean, and join moderately large data sets; perform moderately complex data analyses using R and other statistical programs as needed; create tables and graphs to communicate findings and contribute to written reports; collaborate with peers to develop, implement, and maintain R packages; and participate in professional development to maintain knowledge of current industry trends.

Our team is focused on ensuring that all students have access to engaging academic assessments that provide actionable feedback to teachers and parents/guardians. A few of the current projects we are working on include developing new reporting templates with R Markdown and Quarto to ensure that all reports are accessible and ADA compliant; using student assessment data to evaluate alternate learning pathways; and analyzing survey data to identify areas where we can improve the experience of students, teachers, and parents/guardians.

The person in this role will use R for conducting data analyses, generating reports, and building packages, but may use other languages as needed (e.g., Python, SQL, Stan). The ideal candidate would have experience with R, the tidyverse, R Markdown, and GitHub for version control.

This is a full-time (40 hours/week), unclassified position at the Lawrence campus, with occasional off-site meetings. We will consider an exclusively remote staff person outside of the Lawrence, KS area for this position.
